When he is brought back to Canton orders will be issued to the proper judicial authorities to fix a day for trial

and request the consul-General to send an officer to attend. Instructions will be given to try the accused impartially and without the use of torture and he will be tried only for

those offences on account of which he has been extradited

and as no other charge.

When returned to Canton should another charge be brought against Chung Heiu-nan for a crime committed before his extradition and should it be necessary to try him on thi■ charge and imprison him he will either be sent back to Ezizib H.B.Mes dominions or an opportunity to return thither will be afforded him, in accordance with the ordinances of Hong

kong.
